Jeju has seen a decrease in exports for 11 consecutive months amidst the semiconductor slump.

According to the Jeju branch of the Korea International Trade Association, the region's exports in the previous month amounted to $12 million, down 20.8% compared to the same period last year.

In terms of items, semiconductor exports decreased sharply by 44.5%, while agricultural and fishery exports increased by 21%.

Despite the overall decline in exports, exports to Japan showed a positive trend, with an increase of 20.4%, mainly driven by exports of halibut and beverages.

As such, the Jeju branch of the Korea International Trade Association plans to expand its overseas marketing efforts to Japan, as exports to Japan are showing signs of recovery.



제주 수출 11개월 연속 감소…반도체 부진


제주지역 수출이 반도체 부진 속에 11개월 연속 감소한 것으로 나타났습니다.


한국무역협회 제주지부에 따르면 지난달 도내 수출액은 1천 200만달러로 전년 동월 대비 20.8% 줄며 11개월 연속 감소세를 기록했습니다.

품목별로는 반도체 수출이 44.5% 급감한 반면 농림수산물은 21% 증가했습니다.

전반적인 수출 부진 속에서도 대일본 수출은 넙치와 음료를 중심으로 호조세를 보이며 20.4% 늘었습니다.

한국무역협회 제주지부는 일본에 대한 제주 수출이 다시 늘어나고 있는 만큼 대일본 해외마케팅 사업을 확대할 계획입니다.
