Civic groups have called for an invalid ruling while an administrative lawsuit is underway regarding the expansion of Bijarim Road.

The "Bijarim Road Civic Group" held a press conference claiming that the decision to pave Bijarim Road based on false environmental impact assessments must be invalid.

The group emphasized that an expansion on the road will have a critical negative impact on the ecosystem of Bijarim Road, which has outstanding plant diversity and urged for an invalid ruling.

Meanwhile, the sentencing date for the trial, which was originally scheduled for the 28th has been postponed to the 11th of next month.

비자림로 확포장 공사와 관련한 행정소송 재판이 진행 중인 가운데 시민단체가 무효 판결을 촉구했습니다.

'비자림로 시민모임'은 제주지방법원 앞에서 기자회견을 열고 거짓 환경영향평가에 근거한 비자림로 도로 결정은 무효라고 주장했습니다.

도로가 확장되면 뛰어난 식물다양성을 가진 비자림로의 생태계에 치명적인 악영향을 끼칠 것이라며 재판부는 무효 판결로 환경을 지켜달라고 강조했습니다.

한편 지난28일로 예정됐었던 이번 재판 선고기일은 다음 달 11일로 변경됐습니다.
