The controversy of excluding Jeju from the list of beneficiaries continues as the government announces a travel support plan worth up to 60 billion won to revitalize tourism.

During the 15th emergency economic livelihood meeting presided by President (윤석열) Yoon Seok-yeol, the government announced plans to provide discounts on essential travel expenses such as lodging and recreational facilities and a plan to reduce airline fees for flights arriving at local airports.

However, Jeju and Gimhae airports were excluded from the support among 14 local airports nationwide.

The government explained that it focused on promoting domestic consumption and revitalizing local business districts. It excluded Jeju, where tourists are constantly visiting, from the list of beneficiaries as it aims to support vacation expenses.
