Last month, there was a polarization in industrial activity in the province, as production in the mining and manufacturing industries increased while consumption decreased.

According to the Jeju branch of Statistics Korea, production in the island's mining and manufacturing industries increased by 21.4% compared to the same month last year.

Compared to one year ago, production increased by 2.7% and inventory decreased by 33%.

However, the sales index of large retail stores, which is an indicator of local consumption, fell by 4.9% and returned to a downward trend.




제주 산업활동 양극화…생산 늘고 소비 줄고


지난달 제주지역 광공업 생산이 증가한 반면 소비는 줄어들면서 산업활동의 양극화 현상이 나타났습니다.

통계청 제주사무소가 발표한 산업활동 동향에 따르면 지난달 도내 광공업 생산은 전년 같은 달과 비교해 21.4% 증가했습니다.

출하는 1년 전과 비교해 2.7% 늘었으며 재고는 33% 줄어든 것으로 나타났습니다.

하지만 도내 소비지표인 대형소매점 판매액지수는 4.9% 떨어지며 하락세로 돌아섰습니다.
