The number of employed people in Jeju decreased for two consecutive months showing a shrinkage in the job market.

According to Statistics Korea's Jeju office
Last month, the number of employed people in Jeju was 393,000. Compared to a year ago, the number of people decreased by 4,000, a decline for two consecutive months.

By industry, the number has increased in private and public service sectors but has shown a decrease in agriculture, forestry and fisheries, wholesale, accommodation, food and beverage, and mining.

In line with the decrease in the number of employed people, the employment rate last month was down 1.4 percentage points from the same month last year, marking a low 68 percent.




3월 제주 취업자 4천명 줄어…2개월째 감소


제주지역 취업자가 2개월 연속 감소하며
고용시장이 위축되고 있습니다.

통계청 제주사무소에 따르면
지난달 제주지역 취업자 수는 39만 3천명으로
1년 전과 비교해 4천명 줄어들며
2개월째 감소세를 기록했습니다.

산업별로 보면
사업·개인·공공서비스업에서 증가한 반면
농림어업과 도소매·숙박·음식점업, 광공업 등에서
감소세를 보였습니다.

취업자 감소와 맞물려 지난달 고용률은
지난해 같은 달보다 1.4%포인트 하락한
68%에 그쳤습니다.
