The Jeju branch of the Democratic Party of Korea, along with the Minjung Party, Justice Party, and Progressive Party, announced their plans to launch a joint movement to prevent Japan's ocean disposal of contaminated water from the Fukushima nuclear power plant.

They argued that the release of radioactive water from the plant is directly related to the safety, lives, and survival of Jeju residents.

They urged the government to officially declare its opposition to Japan's ocean disposal and to actively and practically respond to prevent it.

They also emphasized the need for the government to immediately file a lawsuit against Japan at the International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea for its forced ocean disposal.

이들은 원전 오염수 방출이 제주도민들의 안전과 생명, 생존권 문제와 관련돼 있다며

정부 차원에서 해양투기 반대입장을 공식 표명하고,

일본의 해양투기를 막기 위한
실질적이고 적극적인 대응을 촉구했습니다.

그러면서 정부가 해양투기를 강행하는 일본을
국제해양재판소에 즉각 제소해야 한다고 강조했습니다.
