In the first quarter of this year, the scale of net migration in and out of Jeju reached its highest level in 15 years.

According to Statistics Korea, as of the first quarter of this year, 26,580 people moved into Jeju Island, while 27,502 people moved out. As a result, the net migration was 922 people, which is the highest since the first quarter of 2008.

Meanwhile, in February of this year, the natural population decrease, which is the number of births minus the number of deaths, was 92 people.

This marks the 23rd consecutive month of natural population decrease, indicating that the problem of a population cliff is deepening.

올해 1분기 제주지역 인구 순유출 규모가
15년 만에 최대치를 기록했습니다.


통계청에 따르면 올해 1분기 기준
제주도내 전입인구는 2만 6천580명,
전출인구는 2만 7천502명으로 집계됐습니다.

이에 따라 도내 순유출 인구는 922명으로
지난 2008년 1분기 이후 가장 많았습니다.

이와 함께 출생아수에서 사망자수를 뺀
지난 2월 인구 자연감소분은 92명으로
23개월째 자연감소 현상이 이어지면서
인구 절벽 문제가 심화되고 있는 것으로 나타났습니다.
