Seogwipo City is strengthening its inspection of illegal accommodation facilities ahead of the summer vacation season.

First, it will operate a reporting center for illegal accommodation facilities operating through platforms such as Airbnb.

In addition, it plans to conduct online continuous monitoring of suspicious businesses and joint crackdowns with relevant agencies.

Those caught operating accommodation businesses without a license may face up to 2 years of imprisonment or a fine of up to KRW 20 million. (approx. USD 17,500).

서귀포시가 여름 성수기를 앞두고 불법 숙박업소에 대한 점검을 강화합니다.

우선 에어비앤비 등 공유 숙박 플랫폼을 이용해 영업하는 불법 숙박업소에 대한 신고센터를 운영합니다.
이와함께 의심 업체에 대한 온라인 상시 모니터링과 함께 유관기관과의 합동 단속도 실시할 계획입니다.

영업 신고 없이 숙박업을 운영하다 적발될 경우 2년 이하의 징역 또는 2천만원 이하의 벌금에 처해집니다.
