According to the Jeju branch of Statistics Korea, the number of employed people in Jeju reached 398,000 in April, an increase of 5,000 compared to the same period last year, ending the two-month downward trend.

Employment increased in businesses, individual and public service sectors, while it decreased in agriculture, forestry, fisheries, retail, accommodation, and food services.

While the employment rate rose slightly by 0.2 percentage points from the same month last year, recording 68.7%, the number of unemployed people also increased by 1,000, resulting in an unemployment rate of 2.3%, up 0.1 percentage points from the same period last year.



4월 제주 취업자 5천명 늘어…3개월 만 증가

지난달 제주지역 취업자수가
3개월 만에 증가세로 돌아섰습니다.

통계청 제주사무소에 따르면 지난달 제주지역 취업자 수는 39만 8천명으로 1년 전과 비교해 5천명 증가하며
2개월간 이어졌던 감소세에 마침표를 찍었습니다.

산업별 취업자수는 사업/개인/공공서비스업에서 늘어난 반면 농림어업과 도소매/숙박/음식점업에서 줄어들었습니다.

취업자 증가와 맞물려 고용률은 지난해 같은 달보다 0.2%포인트 소폭 상승한 68.7%를 기록했습니다.

다만 실업자도 1천명 증가해 실업률은 0.1%포인트 오른 2.3%로 나타났습니다.
