Only 5 percent of metropolitan companies are considering investment in Jeju.

According to a recent survey conducted by the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Korea Industrial Research Institute on 159 companies located in Seoul, 28.9% are considering moving or expanding their business to non-metropolitan areas within the next five years.

Among regions considered for investment, (충청) Chungcheong Province had the highest percentage at 51.4%, while Jeju was the second lowest at 5.4%, just above (강원) Gangwon Province.

The surveyed companies also listed tax benefits and administrative support from the central and local governments as policies that help facilitate relocation to non-metropolitan areas.

응답기업의 28.9%가 5년 내 비수도권 이전 혹은 신증설 투자를 고려하고 있다고 밝혔습니다.

비수도권 투자 고려 대상 지역으로는 충청권 51.4%로 가장 높았으며 제주는 5.4%로 강원에 이어 두 번째로 낮았습니다.

이와 함께 응답기업들은 비수도권 이전에 도움이 되는 정책으로 세제 혜택과 중앙·지방정부의 행정 지원 등을 꼽았습니다.
