The government has decided to extend the transitional period for the declaration of monthly rent and security deposit, which is one of the three laws on rental housing, for another year.

Minister (원희룡) Won Hee-ryong of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport announced the plan to extend the transitional period for one year, stating that overall improvements are needed in the housing lease market.

The monthly rent and security deposit declaration system requires mandatory reporting within 30 days from the date of lease agreement when the security deposit exceeds 60 million won or the monthly rent exceeds 300,000 won.

Originally, the transitional period was scheduled to end this month, and the system was planned to be officially implemented from the first day of next month.

1년 더 연장하기로 했습니다.

임대차시장에 대해 전반적인 개선이 필요하다며
전월세 신고제 계도기간의
1년 추가 연장 방침을 밝혔습니다.

전월세 신고제는
보증금이 6천만원을 넘거나 월세가 30만원을 초과하면
임대차 계약 체결일로부터 30일 이내에
의무적으로 신고해야 하는 제도입니다.

당초 이달 계도기간을 끝으로
다음 달 1일부터 정식으로 시행될 예정이었습니다.
