18th Jeju Forum Commences May 31

The 18th Jeju Forum will be held from the 31st of this month to the 2nd of next month at the Jeju International Convention Center.

The forum will focus on cooperation for sustainable peace and prosperity in the Indo-Pacific region, and will feature various sessions that integrate government and Jeju local government's key policies.

Participating delegates include Nobel Peace Prize laureate and President of East Timor, Jose Ramos-Horta,
former UN Secretary-General (반기문) Ban Ki-moon,
Speaker of the Philippines House of Representatives Martin Romualdez,
and Speaker of the National Assembly of South Korea, (김진표) Kim Jin-pyo,
among other domestic and international figures, totaling over 2,000 participants.

This forum adopts the government's core diplomatic strategy as the main theme and marks the first time that parliamentary participation will take place, with a Leaders' Forum where members of the Korean National Assembly and ASEAN representatives will participate.

During the forum, Jeju Island will also promote its hosting of APEC and its efforts to have the April 3 Incident documents recognized as a UNESCO Memory of the World.

다양한 세션이 진행될 예정입니다.

반기문 전 유엔 사무총장,
마틴 로무알데스 필리핀 하원의장,
김진표 국회의장 등
국내외 인사 2천여 명의 참여가 확정됐습니다.


이번 포럼은 정부의 핵심 외교전략을 대주제로 채택해
역사상 처음으로
국회 차원의 참여가 이뤄져
한-아세안 의원과 경제인이 참여하는
리더스 포럼이 진행될 예정입니다.
