Jeju Promotes a Comprehensive Sports Complex

A comprehensive sports town, combining sports, culture, and tourism, is being planned around Jeju Comprehensive Sports Stadium.

Jeju Island has announced that it will commission a basic planning service this month to improve the facilities of Jeju Comprehensive Sports Stadium and introduce multi-purpose facilities for sports, cultural tourism, and more.

In particular, the plan envisions creating a comprehensive sports town that can accommodate large-scale sports events, training facilities, recreational sports spaces, and large concerts, catering to both locals and tourists.

Furthermore, through this planning service, strategies will be devised to maximize land utilization, including the construction, removal, expansion, and remodeling of existing sports facilities.

스포츠와 문화, 관광을 연계한 종합스포츠타운 조성이 추진됩니다.

제주도는
제주종합운동장 시설 개선과
스포츠와 문화 관광 등 복합시설 도입을 위한
기본계획 수립 용역을 이달 안에 발주한다고 밝혔습니다.

특히 종합스포츠타운을
대규모 스포츠 이벤트 개최나 전지훈련시설,
생활체육 공간, 대형콘서트와 관광이 가능한
복합 시설로 조성한다는 구상입니다.

또 이번 용역을 통해
기존 경기장 시설 신축 또는 철거, 증축, 리모델링 등
토지 활용 극대화를 위한 방안을 마련할 방침입니다.
