Since the official implementation of the "1,000 Won Breakfast" program at Jeju National University, the number of students having breakfast has significantly increased.

Starting from the 1st of this month, Jeju National University began providing breakfast at the Student Dormitory cafeteria for only one thousand won per meal, thanks to support from Jeju Island, the university, and the government.

The number of students using the breakfast program has risen from an average of 70 students per day to over 200 in just two weeks, nearly tripling in size.

Currently, Jeju National University has a dormitory capacity of 1,900 students, but next year, an additional dormitory with a capacity of 900 students is scheduled to open, which is expected to further increase the number of students utilizing the program.




제주대, '천원의 아침밥' 이용학생 3배 급증


제주대학교가 이달 부터 '천원의 아침밥' 본격 시행 이후에 아침식사를 하는 학생들이 크게 늘어난 것으로 나타났습니다.

제주대학교는 지난 1일부터 학생생활관 6호관 식당에서
제주도와 대학, 정부 지원으로
한끼당 천원으로 아침 식사를 제공하기 시작했습니다.

천원의 아침밥 이용 학생은 하루평균 70여 명에서
시행 2주 만에 2백여명으로 3배 가까이 급증했습니다.

제주대는 현재 기숙사 정원이 1천900명이지만
내년에 9백명 정원의 생활관이 추가로 개관할 예정이어서
이용학생은 더욱 늘어날 것으로 전망했습니다.
