A resident movement organization advocating for local resident autonomy in districts and neighborhoods called ‘(제주민회) Jeju Minhwe’, held a press conference demanding restructure to the current administrative system.

It proposed the establishment of a separate residents' autonomy association, independent of local government bodies, where all residents can become members. They argued that residents should have the right to self-governance in matters closely related to their daily lives.

They also called for the inclusion of a model for this type of administrative system as one of the alternatives to be considered.

읍면동 주민자치 실현을 촉구했습니다.

이들은
지방자치단체와는 별개의 주민자치회를 구성해
읍면동 주민 모두를 회원으로 하고
주민 생활과 밀접한 관련이 있는 사무에 대해
자치권을 갖도록 해야 한다고 주장했습니다.

이같은 내용의 행정체제 모형안을
하나의 대안으로 포함해
도민 공론화 과정을 거치도록 할 것을 요구했습니다.
