The Jeju Fire Safety Headquarters has issued a heat-related illness and safety accident alert for the summer season.

In response to the alert, heatwave equipment has been provided to 32 ambulance stations throughout the province, and 28 standby teams have been organized.

In addition, there will be an emphasis on enhancing emergency medical consultations and emergency response guidance.

Over the past five years, there have been a total of 365 cases of heat-related illnesses in the Jeju area. In the previous year alone, the number of patients per 100,000 population in Jeju was 13.7, the highest in the country.
