With the implementation of a special law to support victims of rental fraud starting this month, the process of identifying and assisting victims has commenced in Jeju. The island has witnessed a number of applications related to this issue.

Jeju Province has reported that during the period from the 1st to the 19th of this month, a total of 8 cases have been filed which collectively involve damages amounting to 970 million won.

The majority of cases involved multi-unit houses, but there were also applications from officetels and detached houses. On the other hand, there were no reported cases involving apartments.

Determinations regarding rental fraud will be made within 60 days, following investigations by Jeju Province and the deliberation of the Rental Fraud Support Committee under the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport.

전세사기 피해지원을 위한 특별법이
이달부터 시행되면서
피해자 인정을 위한 절차가 본격적으로 시작된 가운데
제주에서도 관련 신청이 잇따르고 있습니다.

제주도에 따르면 지난 1일부터19일까지
전세사기 피해 인정을 신청한 사례는 모두 8건으로
피해액은 9억 7천500만원으로 집계됐습니다.

주택 유형별로는 다세대주택이 많았고
오피스텔과 단독주택 등에서도
피해 인정을 신청한 것으로 나타났습니다.
반면 아파트는 없는 것으로 확인됐습니다.


전세사기 피해자 여부는
제주도의 실태조사와
국토교통부 전세사기피해지원위원회의 심의·의결을 거쳐
60일 안에 결정됩니다.
