Five beaches in Jeju City will open early starting this Saturday.

The beaches that will open early are (금능) Geumneung, (협재) Hyeopjae, (곽지) Gwakji, (이호테우) Iho Tewoo, and (함덕) Hamdeok, while the remaining beaches will open as scheduled on the 1st of next month.

The decision to open these 5 beaches early was made in response to the demands of local residents, and it has been recognized that urgent management is needed due to the influx of visitors even before the official opening.

Jeju City plans to deploy 230 safety officers to 8 beaches and 10 coastal water play areas to prevent maritime accidents and ensure safety.

이번주 토요일부터 조기 개장합니다.

조기 개장하는 해수욕장은
금능과 협재, 곽지, 이호테우, 함덕 등 5곳으로
나머지 지정 해수욕장은 예정대로 다음달 1일 개장합니다.

조기 개장하는 5곳은
지역주민들의 요구가 반영된 것으로
개장 전부터 많은 인파로 시급한 관리가 필요하다고 인정됐습니다.

제주시는
해상 안전사고 예방 등을 위해
8개 해수욕장과 10개 연안 물놀이지역에
안전요원 230명을 배치할 계획입니다.
