Due to concerns over the burden of cooling costs, electricity fees for the 3rd quarter have been frozen, following consecutive increases in the 1st and 2nd quarters this year.

The Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO) announced today that the fuel adjustment unit price for the 3rd quarter will remain at the current rate of 5 won per kWh (kilowatt-hour).

This decision is analyzed as the result of no changes in the fuel adjustment unit price, with the government and KEPCO not making adjustments to other electricity fee components, leading to an overall freeze in electricity fees for the 3rd quarter.

Electricity fees have increased by a total of 40.4 won per kWh, with an increase rate of 39.6%, over five times since last year, including an 8 won increase per kWh in the 2nd quarter.




올 3분기 전기요금 동결…냉방비 부담 고려


올해 1분기와 2분기 연속으로 오른 전기요금이
냉방비 부담 등을 이유로 3분기에는 동결됐습니다.

한국전력은 오늘
올해 3분기 연료비 조정단가를
현재와 같은 1kWh(킬로와트시)당 5원으로 유지한다고 밝혔습니다.

이는 연료비 조정단가의 변화가 없는 상황에서
정부와 한전은 다른 전기요금 항목을 조정하지 않아
3분기 전기요금이 전체적으로 동결된 것으로 분석됩니다.

전기요금은
지난달 2분기에 kWh당 8원 인상되는 등
지난해부터 모두 5번에 걸쳐 kWh당 40.4원이 올라
인상률이 39.6%에 달합니다.
