The first Airport Road Underground Tunnel will open in Jeju in August.

As part of the (용문로) Yongmun Road Construction Project near Jeju International Airport, the underground tunnel is a car-only road with a length of 520m and a width of 18m, consisting of a two way road with four lanes.

The tunnel road has been underway since 2019 to address the traffic congestion issues around Jeju International Airport.

As the construction nears completion, Jeju City plans to conduct a joint safety inspection involving eight areas, including geology, civil engineering structures, and transportation, to ensure safety.




공항로 지하차도 8월 개통…520m 왕복 4차로


제주에서는 첫 지하 차도인 공항로 지하차도가
오는 8월 개통됩니다.

제주국제공항에서 용문로 도로개설사업 일환으로 추진되는 공항로 지하차도는
길이 520m, 폭 18m의 왕복 4차로 자동차 전용 도로입니다.

공항로 지하차도는
제주공항 일대의 교통체증 문제를 해결하기 위해
지난 2019년부터 추진돼 왔습니다.

제주시는 공사가 마무리 단계에 접어듬에 따라
지반지질과 토목 구조, 교통 등 8개 분야에 대해
유관기관 합동 안전 점검을 실시할 계획입니다.
