Following the designation of the autonomous vehicle test zone from Jeju International Airport to Jungmun, the Advanced Science and Technology Park has also been added as a test zone for autonomous vehicles.

The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport has designated eight new zones across the country as autonomous vehicle test zones, including a 11.7 km stretch of road on Jeju's (첨단) Cheomdan Road.

In the newly designated zones, there are plans to introduce autonomous driving services that prioritize public transportation, such as buses and shuttles.


To further promote autonomous driving and its integration into the transportation system, several measures will be implemented including setting up autonomous driving living labs, creating mobility innovation roads, and transitioning public transportation to rely on autonomous driving technologies.
