Jeju's Industrial Activity Recovers

It has been reported that industrial activity and consumption in the Jeju region showed signs of recovery in May.

According to the Jeju branch of the Statistics Korea, Jeju's industrial production in May grew by 1.9% year on year (YoY), with exports showing an 11.6% increase, continuing the upward trend.

In terms of industrial production, the production of beverages, pharmaceuticals, and food decreased, while the production of electricity, gas, non-metallic minerals, and other sectors showed an increased.

As a result, inventories in the manufacturing sector decreased significantly by 41.8% compared to a year ago.

The sales index of large-scale retail stores, which is an indicator of domestic consumption in the region, showed a slight increase of 0.4%.

5월 제주지역 산업활동과 소비가 회복세를 보인 것으로 나타났습니다.

통계청 제주사무소에 따르면
5월 광공업 생산은
전년 동월과 비교해 1.9%,
출하는 11.6% 늘며 증가세를 이어갔습니다.



광공업 생산은
음료와 의약품, 식료품 등이 감소했으나 전기·가스업,
비금속광물 등은 증가했습니다.

이에 따라 광공업 재고는
1년 전보다 41.8% 큰 폭으로 감소했습니다.

도내 소비 지표인
대형소매점 판매액지수는
0.4% 소폭 증가한 것으로 나타났습니다.
