Despite an increase in the number of employed individuals in the province for three consecutive months, the employment rate has shown a decline.

According to the Jeju Branch of Statistics Korea, the number of employed individuals in the Jeju region last month was 403,000, which increased by 1,000 compared to the previous year, maintaining a three-month consecutive growth trend.

The wholesale, retail, accommodation, and food service sectors saw the highest increase in employed individuals, with a rise of 7,000. Conversely, the agricultural, forestry, and fisheries sectors witnessed a continued decline, with a decrease of 12,000.

Despite the increase in employed individuals, the employment rate recorded 69.5%, a 0.5% decrease compared to the same month last year.




제주 취업자 3개월 연속 증가…고용률은 하락


제주지역 취업자수가 3개월 연속 증가했으나
고용률은 감소한 것으로 나타났습니다.

통계청 제주사무소에 따르면
지난달 제주지역 취업자 수는 40만 3천명으로
1년 전과 비교해 1천명 늘며
3개월 연속 증가세를 보였습니다.

산업별 취업자수는
도소매·숙박·음식점에서 가장 많은 7천명이 증가한 반면
농림어업은 1만 2천명 줄며 감소세를 이어갔습니다.

취업자 증가에도
고용률은 지난해 같은 달보다 0.5% 하락한
69.5%를 기록했습니다.
