(강경흠) Kang Gyeong-heom, a member of the National Assembly, who has been embroiled in prostitution allegations, has been expelled from the Democratic Party.

According to the Jeju branch of the Democratic Party, on the 12th, Kang received an expulsion decision from the Ethics Committee of the Jeju branch. As he did not appeal the decision, the expulsion was confirmed.

Thus, Kang has become an independent member, no longer affiliated with the party. Meanwhile, the Jeju Provincial Council is proceeding with separate disciplinary procedures concerning the Assembly member.

강경흠 도의원이 더불어민주당에서 제명됐습니다.

더불어민주당 제주도당에 따르면
지난 12일 제주도당 윤리심판원으로부터
제명 처분을 받은 강 의원이 이의 신청을 하지 않음에 따라
제명이 확정됐습니다.

이에 따라 강경흠 의원은
무소속으로 당적이 변경됐습니다.

한편, 제주도의회는
강의원에 대한 별도의 징계 절차를 진행하고 있습니다.
