Special Talent Donation by Social Service Worker

The completed artwork captures the happy expressions of smiling elderly individuals, with vibrant colors adding to the joy.

Since last year, (박세용) Park Se-yong, engaged in a social service, which is an alternative to military service, and stationed at this nursing home, has personally drawn these pictures.

The portraits, gifts from Park to the elderly residents, are cherished as precious treasures throughout their lives.

It's wonderful because he did it so nicely. In this harsh world, I want to praise him for being so kind and well-behaved.

Before being called up for service, Mr. Park was preparing to be a cartoonist in Japan.

He continues the act of giving portraits to the elderly, using his own talent.

Especially aiming to be of great help to the elderly residents, during working hours, he focuses diligently on his duties.

After work, he devotes his personal time and resources to draw these portraits.

Mr. Park's benevolent actions have brightened the atmosphere at the nursing home.

(The elderly) always enjoy the activities here, but they look forward to the time when Mr. Park Se-yong comes. He becomes the vitality of their lives.

He has presented portraits to 11 nursing home residents so far.
Up until the end of his service period, he plans to draw as many elderly individuals as possible on canvas.

Even while serving here, I wanted to find meaningful work, and I thought capturing the smiles and happiness of the elderly in my drawings would be truly valuable. I want to continue drawing as many portraits of the elderly as possible during the remaining period.

An admirable talent donation by a social service worker is touching the local community with warmth.

새하얀 종이에
세심하게 그려진 어르신의 모습.

완성된 그림에는
환하게 웃는 어르신들의 행복한 표정이
알록달록한 색감과 함께 담겼습니다.

지난해부터 이 요양원에서
사회복무요원으로 근무 중인 박세용씨가 직접 그린 그림입니다.

어르신들에게 손자 같은
박씨의 초상화 선물은
평생 간직할 소중한 보물입니다.

아주 좋죠 손주가 해주니깐. 이 험한 세상에 우리 손주는 어떻게 저렇게 착하고 점잖고 얌전할까 아주 칭찬 많이 해주고 싶어요.


소집 전 일본에서 만화가를 준비하던 박씨.

자신의 재능을 살려 어르신들에게
초상화를 선물하는 선행을 이어오고 있습니다.


특히 어르신들에게 최대한 많은 도움을 주고자
근무시간에는
성실하게 임무에 집중하고
퇴근 후 본인의 시간과 사비를 들여 그림을 그리고 있습니다.

박씨의 선행에 요양원 분위기는 한층 더 밝아졌습니다.

(어르신들이) 평상시에도 여기 나오는 걸 즐거워하지만 우리 박세용 군이 오면서는 그 시간을 굉장히 기다리고 있습니다. 삶의 활력이 되는 거죠.

요양원 어르신들을 위해 그린 작품은 모두 11점.

소집해제일까지 노력이 닿는 한
최대한 많은 어르신을 화폭에 담을 예정입니다.

여기서 복무하면서도 가치 있는 일을 찾고 싶어서 어르신들의 미소와 행복한 모습을 그림으로 담는 게 참 가치 있겠다 생각해서 하게 됐습니다.
남은 기간에도 계속 어르신들을 최대한 많이 그려드리고 싶습니다.
