Special Gang Crackdown : 37 Arrests

Jeju Provincial Police Agency conducted a special crackdown from March to last month this year.

During the first half, the police arrested 37 members of violent gang organizations involved in illegal activities within the province.
Among them, 6 were detained.
By type, online gambling had the highest number with 16 cases, followed by 10 cases of violence and 5 cases of extortion.

By age, the most significant number of individuals involved were in their 30s with 19 people, followed by those in their 20s and 40s.

The Jeju Provincial Police’s powerful crime investigation unit will continue to conduct continuous crackdowns and management on violent organizations. At the same time, they are committed to responding strongly to organized violence crimes.


상반기 조직폭력 특별단속…37명 검거·6명 구속

제주경찰청은
올해 3월부터 지난달까지
상반기 특별단속 기간을 벌여
불법 행위를 저지른
도내 폭력 조직원 37명을 검거하고
이 가운데 6명을 구속했습니다.

범죄 유형별로는
온라인 도박이 16건으로 가장 많았고
폭력 10건, 갈취 5건 등의 순으로 나타났습니다.

연령별로는
30대가 19명으로 가장 많았고
20대와 40대가 뒤를 이었습니다.

앞으로도 폭력 조직에 대해
지속적인 단속과 관리를 하는 한편,
조직폭력 범죄에 강력히 대응할 방침입니다.
