During the evaluation carried out as a component of the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family's Gender Equality Week, the Province has been honored with the Presidential Commendation.

During this evaluation, Jeju achieved high scores in various aspects, including the establishment of a unique gender equality policy framework, recognition as a female-friendly city, efforts in preventing violence against women, and consistently ranking high in the regional gender equality index for five consecutive years.

Gender Equality Week, from September 1st, when Korea's inaugural Declaration of Women's Rights was proclaimed, has been officially established as a statutory holiday to foster balanced growth and harmony between genders.



제주도, 양성평등 문화 확산 공로 '대통령 표창'


제주특별자치도가
여성가족부의 양성평등주간 행사에 따른 평가에서
지방자치단체로는 유일하게 대통령 표창을 받게 됐습니다.

이번 평가에서
제주형 양성평등정책 기본계획 수립을 비롯해
여성친화도시와 여성폭력방지 우수지차체 선정,
지역성평등지수의 5년 연속 상위등급에서 높은 점수를 받았습니다.

양성평등주간은
우리나라 최초의 여성인권선언문이 발표된
9월 1일을 법정기념일로 제정하면서
일주일간 남성과
여성의 조화로운 발전을 위해 운영되고 있습니다.
