Last month, the number of employed people in Jeju continued to increase, while the employment rate showed a decline.

According to the Jeju branch of Statistics Korea, employment rose by 2,000 last month to 406,000 compared to a year ago.
Employment in electricity, transport, communications, and finance rose by 8,000, while the agriculture and forestry, and fishing sectors saw a 14,000-person drop.

Despite the increase in employment, the employment rate fell slightly to 70.1%, a 0.2 percentage point drop compared to the same month last year.




제주 취업자 2천명 증가…고용률은 하락세


지난달 제주지역 취업자수가 증가세를 이어간 반면
고용률은 하락한 것으로 나타났습니다.

통계청 제주사무소에 따르면
지난달 제주도내 취업자 수는 40만 6천명으로
1년 전과 비교해 2천명 늘었습니다.

산업별 취업자는
전기, 운수, 통신, 금융업에서 가장 많은 8천명 증가했으며
농림어업에서는 1만 4천명 급감한 것으로 조사됐습니다.

취업자 증가에도 고용률은 70.1%로
지난해 같은 달 보다 0.2%포인트 떨어지며
소폭의 하락세를 이어갔습니다.
