Unpaid wages have seen a significant rise in the Jeju region, with the construction sector at the heart of this issue.

Jeju has seen a significant increase in unpaid wages, reaching 14.52 billion won by the end of last month.

This marks a substantial 48.9% rise compared to the same period last year, with the construction sector accounting for the highest portion at 34.4%.

Authorities are working to address the issue before the Chuseok holiday in collaboration with relevant agencies, including the Gwangju Regional Employment and Labor Administration.

지난해 같은 기간과 비교해 48.9% 증가했습니다.
업종 별로는 건설업이 34.4%로 가장 많았고
음식 숙박업, 서비스업이 뒤를 이었습니다.

제주도는 광주지방고용노동청 등 유관기관과 협력을 통해 추석 명절 전에 체불임금 문제가 최대한 해소될 수 있도록 노력하겠다고 설명했습니다.
