Mail Carrier Prevents Major Fire
A postal worker is being praised for his quick report and response in preventing a major fire while delivering mail.
A postal worker, (김윤환) Kim Yoon-hwan, is being commended for his swift action in preventing a large fire. On the 21st, he noticed smoke emerging from a storage warehouse located in (상창리) Sangchang-ri, (안덕면) Andeok-myeon, and promptly reported it to emergency services by contacting 119.

What's especially commendable is that Kim immediately took action, personally dousing the fire, and halting its spread until firefighters arrived.
Kim expressed satisfaction in being able to protect neighboring residents' property from damage.

대형화재를 막은 집배원이 있어 미담이 되고 있습니다.

서귀포우체국에 따르면 모슬포우체국에 근무하는 김윤환 주무관은 지난 21일 오전 11시 20분쯤
안덕면 상창리 물품 보관창고에서
연기가 나는 것을 발견하고 119에 최초로 신고했습니다.

특히 신고 직후 119가 출동해 화재를 진압하기 전까지
직접 물을 나르고 뿌리며
화재가 번지는 것을 막은 것으로 알려졌습니다.

김 주무관 작지만 이웃 주민의 재산 피해를 예방하는 데 도움이 돼 집배원으로서 보람을 느낀다고 말했습니다.
