The Jeju National Museum is curating a special exhibition through February next year.

The exhibition will showcase 35 Jeju bronze masterpieces, including Jeju's Dongjaseok boy statues from the 17th to 20th centuries, along with 32 Arhat statues from Changryeongsa Temple in Yeongwol, and 11 contemporary sculptures and paintings.

The exhibition is a significant moment, unveiling the historical and artistic aspects of Jeju's bronze statues, including pieces dating back to 1685, offering a rare glimpse of their primitive beauty.



국립제주박물관, 제주 동자석·영월 나한상 특별전 개최


국립제주박물관이 내년 2월까지 제주 동자석과 영월 나한상을 한자리에서 선보이는 특별전을 개최합니다.

이번 특별전에는 17세기에서 20세기 제주 동자석 35점과 영월 창령사 터 출토 오백나한상 (Five Hundred Arhats of Changnyeongsa Temple Site) 32점, 제주 현대작가의 조각과 회화 11점 등이 선보입니다.

국립제주박물관은 이번 특별전이 제주 동자석의 역사성과 예술성을 조명하는 첫번째 전시로 초기 제주 동자석의 모습을 볼 수 있는1685년경 작품 등을 최초로 공개하는 등 주목할만한 전시품들을 선보일 예정입니다.
