Jeju has received an excellent rating for four consecutive years in a nationwide comparison evaluation of the welfare levels for people with disabilities among provinces.

Jeju ranked 73.78 points in income and economic support and 67.91 in mobility, cultural leisure, and information access, beating the national average in both areas.

Notably, in the specific evaluation criteria, the funding for vocational rehab facilities and per-person information and communication access for those with disabilities, stood out as the highest in the nation.

Conversely, the percentage of independence fund loans for the disabled and the use rate of cultural and leisure support programs were seen as below par.

Additionally, since 2005, the Korea Differently Abled Federation, a nonprofit, has been conducting yearly assessments of the welfare standards for those with disabilities.

제주도가 전국 시도별 장애인 복지 수준 비교 평가에서 4년 연속 우수 등급을 받았습니다. 제주도는 이번 평가에서 소득과 경제활동 지원 영역에서 73.78점을, 이동과 문화여가, 정보접근 영역에서는 67.91점을 기록해 두 기준 모두 전국 평균을 크게 상회했습니다.

특히, 세부 평가 기준 가운데 직업 재활 시설 지원 예산액과 장애인 1인당 정보통신접근 예산 지원액이 전국 최고 수준인 것으로 나타났습니다.

반면, 장애인 자립자금 대여 비율이나 문화여가 활동 지원사업 이용률은 저조한 것으로 평가됐습니다.

장애인 복지 수준 평가는 사단법인 한국장애인단체총연맹이 지난 2005년부터 매년 실시하고 있습니다.
