The Jeju 4.3 Incident Committee, chaired by Prime Minister Han Deok-su(한덕수), recently convened and recognized an additional 13,195 individuals as victims and their families.

30 were identified as victims, including 19 deceased, 8 missing, and 3 who were injured. The remaining 13,000 and more are their relatives.

With this addition, the number of victims and families recognized since 2002 for the Jeju 4.3 Incident has risen to 122,076.

The province plans to set up memorial tablets for the newly recognized victims at the 4.3 Peace Park Memorial Hall this year.

Additionally, assistance for living expenses and various welfare benefits will be dispatched to surviving victims and first-generation elderly family members 75 years and over.

희생자와 유족으로 1만 3천 195명을 추가 결정했습니다.

이 가운데 희생자는
사망 19명과 행방불명 8명,
수형인 3명을 포함해 30명이며
나머지 1만 3천여명은 유족입니다.

이에따라 지난 2002년부터 결정된
4.3사건 희생자와 유족은
12만 2천 76명으로 늘어나게 됐습니다.

제주도는 이번에 결정된 희생자와 관련해
올해 중 4.3 평화공원 봉안실에 위패를 설치할 예정입니다.

또 생존희생자와 75살 이상 1세대 고령 유족,
유족들에 대해
생활보조비 지원이나
각종 복지혜택 안내문을 발송할 예정입니다.
