The autumn drought is intensifying as it has not rained for nearly a month.

The Jeju Agricultural Technology Institute reported that as of the 30th, the soil moisture content in over 30 surveyed areas decreased compared to two weeks ago, and the number of initial drought-affected areas increased from 5 to 11 during the same period.

In particular, areas such as Wimi and Jungmun are described to be in a state of autumn drought due to a severe lack of moisture.

The Institute has issued a warning that if the current low levels of rainfall persist, there is a risk that the autumn drought may extend across the entire province. They are advising farmers to regularly irrigate their fields to mitigate the effects.

한달 가까이 비가 내리지 않으면서
가을 가뭄이 확대되고 있습니다.

제주도 농업기술원은
지난 30일 기준
조사지역 30여 곳의 토양 수분 함량이
2주 전보다 적어졌고
초기 가뭄 지역도
같은 기간 5곳에서 11곳으로 늘었다고 밝혔습니다.

특히 위미와 중문은
수분 상태가 매우 부족해
가을 가뭄에 들어간 상태라고 설명했습니다.

농업기술원은 지속적으로
강우량이 적을 경우 도 전역으로 가을 가뭄이 확대될 수 있다며
농가에선 주기적으로 물 공급을
해달라고 당부했습니다.
