Jeju Island has a foreign resident population of 33,900, around 5% of the total population.

According to data analyzed by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety based on the Population and Housing Census conducted by Statistics Korea as of November 1st of last year, there were 33,908 foreign residents in Jeju.

This represents approximately 5% of the total population and is the third-highest proportion in the country, following Chungnam(충남) and Gyeonggi(경기) provinces.

Among the foreign residents in the province, workers accounted for the most significant percentage at 27.8%, followed by married immigrants and students.



제주 외국인 주민 3만3,900명…전체 5% 수준


제주지역에 거주하는 외국인 주민은
전체 인구의 5% 수준인 것으로 나타났습니다.

행정안전부가 통계청 인구주택총조사 자료를 분석한 결과에 따르면 지난해 11월 1일 기준으로
제주에 거주하는 외국인 주민은 3만 3천 908명으로 집계됐습니다.

이는 제주 총인구의 5%에 해당하는 수준으로
충남과 경기에 이어
전국에서 세 번째로 높은 비중을 보였습니다.

도내 외국인 주민은
근로자가 27.8%로 가장 많았고
결혼이민자, 유학생 등이 뒤를 이었습니다.
