As winter approaches, there is a growing need for caution against the increased risk of fires caused by heating equipment.

According to the Jeju Fire Department, in the past three years in Jeju, there have been 73 fires related to heating equipment. These incidents have resulted in 4 casualties and caused property damage amounting to 500 million won.

The most common were electric heating equipment fires, accounting for 27 incidents, followed by 21 cases of wood-fired boiler fires, and 15 cases of domestic boiler fires.

The causes of these fires were primarily due to negligence (53%), electrical factors (23%), and gas leaks (4%).

The Fire Department noted that 46 cases, which is 64% of heating equipment fires occurred during the winter months of December through February. A fire caution notice has been issued and plans are in place to strengthen fire prevention inspections.

5억 원에 달하는 재산 피해가 났습니다.

전기 난방용품 화재가
27건으로 가장 많았고
화목 보일러 화재 21건,
가정용 보일러 화재 15건으로
파악됐습니다.

화재 원인은 부주의가 53%,
전기적 요인 23%,
가스 누출은 4%였습니다.

소방본부는 난방용품 화재 가운데
64%인 46건이 12월과 2월 사이 겨울철에 집중됐다며
화재주의보를 발령하고
예방 점검을 강화할 계획입니다.
