As year-end social gatherings and drinking parties increase, the police are intensifying crackdowns on drunk driving.

The Jeju Provincial Police Agency is conducting a two-month initiative, extending through January, to intensify patrols both during the day and at night, focusing on areas including Ido-dong(이도동), Yeon-dong(연동), and Nohyeong-dong(노형동) in Jeju City which are areas prone to alcohol-related accidents, as well as suburban and rural areas.

Local police stations, mobile police units, and the Jeju Municipal Police Bureau will all be involved in the crackdown.

In the past three years, there have been about 4,600 cases of drunk driving detected, with 13% or approximately 600 cases occurring during the year-end and start of the new year.

연말 술자리와 모임이 잦아지면서 경찰이 음주운전 단속을 강화합니다.

제주경찰청은
내년 1월까지 두 달 동안
제주시 이도동과 연동, 노형동을 비롯한
음주사고 다발 지역과
시내외 외곽지역을 대상으로
주야간 음주운전 단속을 실시합니다.

관할 경찰서와
경찰 기동대를 포함해
자치경찰단도 단속에 투입될 예정입니다.

최근 3년 동안 적발된 음주운전 건수는 4천 6백여 건으로
이 가운데 13%인 6백여 건이 연말연시에 집중됐습니다.
