To strengthen radiation testing for agricultural and fisheries and processed foods the Province has newly established Tritium Analysis Facilities at the Korea Institute of Ocean Science and Technology and National Institute of Environmental Research.

The newly installed equipment will undergo a month-long trial run, with plans to commence full-scale inspections next year.

Meanwhile, the Marine Fisheries Research Institute has been actively performing radioactivity tests on marine products from local fishery cooperatives, fish farms, and village fishing zones in the province.

From October, the count of water quality testing locations in Jeju's maritime region has increased from 14 to 28, effectively doubling monitoring capacity.



제주도, 삼중수소 분석장비 2대 설치 마무리


제주특별자치도가
농수산물과 가공식품에 대한 방사능 검사 강화를 위해
해양수산연구원과 보건환경연구원에
각각 삼중수소 분석정비 설치를 마무리했습니다.


이 장비는
이달 한달간 시험 가동을 거쳐
내년부터 본격적인 검사가 이뤄질 예정입니다.


해양수산연구원은
도내 수협 위판장과 양식장, 마을 어장을 대상으로
수산물 방사능 검사를 실시하고 있으며
지난 10월부터는
제주해역 수질검사 지점을
14개소에서 28개소로 확대하고 있습니다.
