The number of employed people in the Jeju region has shown a continuous decrease for two months.

According to the Jeju Office of Statistics Korea, the number of employed people in the region last month was 411,000, which is a decrease of 5,000 compared to the same month last year.

The number of employed individuals in the region decreased for the first time in seven months in October and has continued to decrease for two consecutive months.

Consequently, the employment rate last month recorded a drop of 1.3 percentage points to 70.8%, compared to a year ago.

The Jeju Office of Statistics Korea analyzed that the decrease in the number of employed people is due to the base effect of employment improvement last year and the recent decrease in tourists.



지난달 취업자 5천명 줄어…2개월째 감소


제주지역 취업자수가
2개월 연속 감소한 것으로 나타났습니다.


통계청 제주사무소에 따르면
지난달 도내 취업자수는 41만1천명으로
지난해 같은 달과 비교해 5천명 줄었습니다.


도내 취업자 수는
지난 10월,
7개월 만에 줄어든 뒤
2개월 연속 감소세를 보였습니다.


이에 따라 지난달 고용률은
1년 전과 비교해 1.3%포인트 하락한 70.8%를 기록했습니다.

통계청 제주사무소는
지난해 고용 개선의 기저효과와
최근 관광객 감소가 맞물리면서
취업자수가 줄어든 것으로 분석했습니다.
