For the New Year's celebration, an estimated 7,000 people are expected to participate in a night hike on Mount Hallasan.

The hike will begin at 1 a.m. on January 1 and is expected to attract approximately 1,500 climbers to the Dongneung(동릉) summit and an additional 5,500 to the Witse-oreum(윗세로음) area.

About 100 safety management personnel will be deployed at four locations including Seongpanak(성판악), Gwaneumsa(관음사), Eorimok(어리목), and Yeongsil(영실).

Emergency response plans are in place as well as as emergency communication networks, and organized traffic and parking strategies to accommodate many hikers.

새해 맞이 한라산 야간 산행에
모두 7천여 명이 오를 것으로 예상됩니다.

제주도는
내년 1월 1일 새벽 1시부터
한라산 동릉 정상과 윗세오름에서 산행이 시작돼
정상에는 1천500명,
윗세오름에는 5천5백명이 모일 것으로 예상했습니다.

이에 따라
성판악과 관음사, 어리목, 영실 4곳에는
안전관리요원 100여 명이 투입됩니다.

제주도는 응급상황에 따른 대처 방안과,
비상 연락망 구룩,
교통과 주차 대책을 마련했습니다.
