The province plans to invest 37 billion won by the year 2026 to create a wetland ecological park with amenities including waterfront parks in the Gangjeong Village area.

This area has been rich in rivers and springs, historically providing essential water resources to the local residents. However, long term neglect has been leading to accelerated environmental degradation due to factors such as increased pesticide usage and a decrease in biodiversity.

Through this project, the province aims to conserve native species and enhance biodiversity while providing opportunities for ecological education and leisure activities in the form of ecological experience and learning spaces.



2026년까지 강정 습지생태공원 조성 추진

제주특별자치도가 강정마을 일대에
오는 2026년까지
사업비 370억 원을 투자해
수변공원 등을 갖춘 습지생태공원을 조성합니다.

해당 지역은
하천.용천수가 풍부해
예부터 마을주민에게 생명수를 제공해 왔으나
오랜기간 방치되고
농약 사용량 증가 등으로
동식물 개체수가 감소하는 등 파괴가 가속화되고 있는 곳입니다.

이번 사업을 통해
고유의 생물종 보존과 다양성을 높이고
생태체험 학습장과
여가공간으로 활용할 계힉입니다.
