The annual donation limit for the "Hometown Love Donation Program" will be expanded from 5 million won per person to 20 million won.

A law amendment was proposed on the program proposed by Lawmaker Song Jae-ho(송재호).

As a result, the annual donation limit has been raised to 20 million won, and local governments will be able to use the donations for specific projects and provision of gratitude gifts.

Furthermore, fundraising through private gatherings such as text messages and hometown associations will be allowed, which is expected to alleviate the difficulties faced by local governments in fundraising and promotion for the program.

The amended law will go into effect 6 months after its promulgation, and the expanded limit will take effect on January 1st of the following year.



고향사랑기부제 기부 상한 2천만원으로 확대


고향사랑기부제 연간 기부 상한이
1인당 500만원에서 2천만원으로 확대됩니다.

국회는 지난1일 본회의를 열고
송재호 의원이 대표 발의한 '고향사랑 기부금에 관한 법률 개정안'을 처리했습니다.

이에따라 연간 기부 상한액은 2천만원으로 상향되고
지방자치단체는 목적 사업과 답례품 제공 비용 등에
고향사랑 기부금을 활용할 수 있게 됐습니다.

또 문자 메시지나
향우회 같은 사적모임을 통한 모금이 가능해지면서
그동안 고향사랑기부제 모금과 홍보에 어려움을 겪었던 지자체들의 어려움이 조금이나마 해소될 전망입니다.

바뀐 법은 공포 후 6개월 뒤 시행되며
기부 상한을 확대하는 조항은 내년 1월 1일 시행됩니다.
