The medical school at Jeju National University has expanded its student body from 40 to 100, an increase of 60 students.

The government has announced to increase the national quota for medical school admissions by 2,000 students by the year 2025.

Of the increased quota, 80% has been allocated to regions outside the capital area, with Jeju National University's medical school confirmed to receive an increase to 100 students, 2.5 times its original quota.

Jeju expects that this will enable Jeju National University's medical school to play a pivotal role in enhancing community health and addressing healthcare disparities among its residents.

The new quota will be applied starting with the students in their third year of high school.
