Another embezzlement scandal involving hundreds of millions of won has surfaced at the same cooperative where a similar incident occurred.

Police are currently investigating the suspected misappropriation.

The Jeju Provincial Police Agency announced that it is investigating two cooperative employees following a complaint filed last month alleging embezzlement in the course of their duties.

These employees are reported to have misused around 100 million won of development subsidies and public utility fees for personal investments, among other expenses, from 2022 until the end of last year.

Moreover, earlier this year, another cooperative employee embezzled approximately 900 million won in purchasing funds over 70 instances.

또 다시 수천만 원 대의
보조금 유용 정황이 드러나 경찰이 수사하고 있습니다.

제주경찰청은
지난 달 모 수협 측의 고소로
직원 2명에 대해
업무상 횡령 혐의로
수사를 진행하고 있다고 밝혔습니다.

이들은 지난 2022년부터 지난해 말까지
어촌계 지원 보조금이나 공공요금
1천여 만 원을 주식 자금 등으로 유용했다가
중앙회 감사에서 드러난 것으로 전해졌습니다.

한편 해당 수협에서는
올 초에도 소속 직원이 70여 차례에 걸쳐
회삿돈 9억여 원을 횡령한 사건이 발생했습니다.
