Illegal traps for wildlife have been found near reservoirs in Jeju.

On the 9th, around 30 participants, led by the Yeongsan (영산) River Basin Environmental Office in collaboration with the Jeju Provincial Government, City Hall, and the Wildlife Management Association's Jeju branch, gathered in Odeungdong(오등동), Jeju City.
There, they removed about ten illegal wildlife traps from the Hancheon Reservoir area.

The Yeongsan(영산) River Basin Environmental Office plans to continue enforcement and public awareness activities to eradicate poaching.

Since 2019, the Ministry of Environment has completely banned the use of traps such as these.



저류지 인근서 불법 설치 올무 10여 점 수거

제주도내 저류지 인근에서 불법으로 야생동물을 잡기 위해 설치한 올무들이 발견됐습니다.

환경부 영산강유역환경청은
제주도청과 시청,
야생생물관리협회 제주지부 등
30여 명이 참여한 가운데 지난 9일 제주시 오등동 한천 저류지 인근에 설치된
올무 10여 점을 수거했습니다.



영산강유역환경청은 밀렵행위 근절을 위해
지속적인 단속과 계도활동을 이어갈 계획입니다.
환경부는 지난 2019년부터
올무 사용을 전면 금지했습니다.
