The Bank of Korea (BOK) has held the current base interest rate at 3.5% steady for the tenth consecutive time without adjustment.

On the 12th, the BOK Monetary Policy Committee decided to maintain the current base interest rate of 3.5%.

This marks the tenth consecutive pause in base interest rate adjustments since its decision to freeze the rate in February last year.

The decision to keep the interest rate unchanged is seen as influenced by the uncertain inflation situation, the uptick in international oil prices, and the surge in household debt.
