Illegal Filming in School Restrooms

On the 16th, a report was filed with the police about an illegal filming incident at a middle school in Jeju City.

The crime scene was the female staff bathroom.

The male student, who was the perpetrator, secretly entered the bathroom stall equipped with a door lock and hid inside, filming the victim teacher with his cellphone before being caught.

After reporting to the police, the school immediately took measures to separate the victim teacher and the perpetrator student.


The victim was provided with special leave and psychological counseling, while the perpetrator student received a suspension from attendance for one week, with further extension under consideration.


The provincial office of education says the school applied for a meeting of the Teacher's Rights Protection Committee to the Jeju City Education Support Office,

where discussions on the protection of the victim teacher and the level of disciplinary actions for the student will take place.

Previously, in October last year, a hidden camera was discovered installed by a male student in the female bathroom of a nearby high school.


Following a police investigation, it was confirmed that the perpetrator had illegally filmed in locations including the school bathroom and cafeteria over two months, affecting over 200 victims. The perpetrator was expelled and indicted in custody.

The police are conducting an investigation, including digital forensics on the cell phone, as they believe there may be additional victims in this case.

화장실로 몰래 들어가 숨어 있었고

피해 교사를 휴대전화로 촬영하다가 적발된 겁니다.

학교 측은 경찰 신고후
피해 교사와
가해 학생을 즉각 분리 조치했습니다.

피해자에겐 특별 휴가와 심리 정서 상담을 지원하고

가해 학생은
일주일 출석 정지 처분을 내렸고
추가 연장도 검토하고 있습니다.

교육청은
학교에서 제주시교육지원청으로
교권보호위원회 회의를 신청했고

이 자리에서
피해 교사 보호와 학생 징계 수위 등에
대한 논의가 이뤄질 것이라고 밝혔습니다.

앞서, 지난 해 10월에는
인근에 있는 고등학교 여자 화장실에서
남학생이 몰래카메라를 설치했다가 적발됐습니다.

경찰 수사 결과
당시 두달 동안 학교 화장실과 식당 등에서
불법 촬영을 했고
피해자만 2백명이 넘는 것으로 학인돼
가해 학생은
퇴학 처분과 함께 구속 기소됐습니다.

추가 피해자가 있을 것으로 보고
휴대전화 디지털 포렌식 등 수사를 진행하고 있습니다.
