Jeju is strengthening the legal protection system for public officers facing challenges while performing their duties.

The Province has proposed new legislation to support public officers in litigation related to their administrative responsibilities.

This is the first time such guidelines will be codified, having previously been managed through internal policies. The support is now extended to include both current and retired public officers.

Additionally, the limit for attorney fees and other related costs has been increased from 2 million won to 3 million won.

Public comments are accepted through the government website 'e-People,' until the 13th of next month.

제주특별자치도는 이같은 내용을 담은
적극행정 추진 공무원의 소송 수행 지원 등에 관한 규칙 제정안을 입법 예고했습니다.

그동안 내부지침으로 이뤄져 오다 이번에 처음으로 법제화 하는 것입니다.

입법예고된 내용을 보면 소송 지원 대상을 재직공무원에서 퇴직공무원으로 확대하고

변호인 등 선임 비용 한도의 경우 200만 원에서
300만 원으로 늘렸습니다.

입법 예고기간은 다음달 13일까지이며 국민신문고를 통해 의견을 제출할 수 있습니다.
