The branch of the National Trauma Healing Center in Jeju, which has been criticized for its name suggesting it is a national institution, will be renamed the Jeju National Trauma Healing Center and is set to open next month.

Democratic Party of Korea Representative Wi Seong-gon(위성곤) announced the reports shared from the Ministry of the Interior and Safety’s plans to ensure the independent operation of the Jeju center and rename it the Jeju National Trauma Healing Center.

Representative Wi also stated that it is necessary to restore the legal status of the center and expressed his intention to promote related legal amendments.

In response, the Ministry of the Interior and Safety plans to change the corporate registration due to the name modification this month and will hold an inauguration ceremony next month.

보도자료를 통해
행정안전부로부터
제주 센터의 독자적 운영 보장과 함께
국립제주트라우마치유센터로
명칭을 변경하는 계획을 보고받았다고 밝혔습니다.

또 분원 개념으로 설치된
제주 센터의 법적 위상 자체를 회복할 필요가 있다며
관련법 개정 추진 의사를 밝혔습니다.

이와 관련해 행정안전부는
이달 중 명칭 수정에 따른
법인 등기를 변경하고
다음달 현판과 간판 교체와 출범식을 개최할 계획입니다.
