Fire authorities are investigating why the alarm systems failed to operate during the fire at Dream Tower.

The Jeju Fire Safety Headquarters has received computer log records related to the control of the alarm systems from Dream Tower and plans to analyze them to determine when the systems were turned off.

The Fire Headquarters stated that the malfunction could be a serious violation under the Fire Protection Act, and plans to formally investigate and examine the involved parties for any intentional misconduct.

Meanwhile, the fire at Dream Tower, which occurred on the 9th, had a 17-minute delay in emergency reporting compared to the time the fire broke out.

Fire investigations revealed the tower had turned off the equipment in advance, causing a delay in the reporting and alarm systems.



드림타워 소방경보 꺼져 신고 지연…소방 수사 개시


드림타워 화재와 관련해 소방 당국이 논란이 된
경보 시설 미작동 경위에 대한 수사에 들어갑니다.

제주도소방안전본부는소방특별사법경찰 조사를 통해
드림타워로부터 경보 시설 제어 관련 컴퓨터 로그기록을 전달받고
이를 분석해 경보 시설이 언제부터 꺼졌는지 파악할 계획입니다.

소방본부는 경보 시설 미작동은 소방시설법 상 중대 혐의점이 될 수 있다며 정식 수사로 전환해 관련자를 조사하고 고의성 여부도 확인할 예정이라고 밝혔습니다.

한편 지난 9일 발생한 드림타워 화재는 발생 시간보다 소방 신고 시간이 17분 늦게 이뤄졌는데 소방 조사 결과 드림타워 측에서 장비를 사전에
꺼두면서 자동 신고 설비를 비롯해 경비 시스템이 작동하지 않은 것으로 확인됐습니다.
